I am a freelance front end web developer with over 10 years experience working for digital and web agencies and also creating bespoke websites for small to medium companies and individuals.

I am an enthusiastic and friendly person to work with and will prove invaluable on your next web project.

I am based in Bristol, UK with my own desk space and am available for:

• Overflow work on a daily/hourly/weekly basis as it arises
• Short term (<6 months) contracts either in or out of house
• Work you may require for a specific project or website

Outside of work I am an incredibly passionate mountain biker, keen rock climber, snowboarder and outdoor enthusiast. I'm also a Scout Leader, mainly helping with the 14-18 year old Explorer Scout section.

My expertise lies in converting the designs from the lead designer into hand coded HTML (HTML5), CSS (CSS3) & jQuery, providing the back end development team with standards compliant code for database and CMS integration.

I've worked on creating numerous HTML emails and newsletters - an art in itself, far removed from creating modern websites

I have also taken design style guides and base designs created the lead designer and continued to design rest of the site from those. This can be particularly convenient for agencies whose designers are very busy and deadlines are tight.

Agencies I have worked with in the past include 64Digital (formally TVI Design), Cyber Duck, We Are Float, Ignite, netcel.

I am also reasonably proficient in PHP and MySQL, although have not worked in an agency environment using these technologies, only on personal projects.

I have my own office space, or can come in to work in house. I often find that when working with a new team or on a large project it works best to come in house for a short period (perhaps a week) and then continue the work from my Bristol based office.

I have worked on numerous smaller websites that may not need the full weight of an agency behind them. Saving time, money and getting more of that personal touch a small business requires.

I can take your project from conception, to design, through to deployment, including content management systems (CMS) and also consult with you on your marketing and social media strategy.

Having run my own tourism based business (Riders Retreat) a lot of the other websites I have worked on have inevitably been websites for the tourism and outdoor industry. I am more than happy to take on projects outside of this area though.

If you're after a larger website or something particularly complex and want to work with me, that's fine. But I'll most likely refer you to work with an agency I have worked with in the past or get other people on board. Big projects require more than a one man show.
